Commitment

Great to see you again! Thanks for visiting!

As you look around this site you will find many different topics, it is just the things that I am interested in so I want to learn more.  Researching, reading, and writing allows me to learn more.   I haven’t talked much about myself though or how I actually feel about the topics.  I have been thinking that I need to do this more… it is a good habit for me and maybe you can learn from my experiences.

This year May 2009 – May 2010 my 39th year, I decide to create a theme for the first time.  The theme is my guiding focus while making decisions for the year.  Last Summer I moved away from the big city and away from a negative person.  My intention was to spend more time focusing on me and creating more balance in my life.   I looked at some of the major areas of my life: family, friends, finance, education, health, self care, spirit/soul,work.  Overall I had made some  big changes, but I need to do more.  I felt like I needed to work on two major areas still; Physical wellness and Spiritual wellness.

In the light of my up coming 40th birthday, I was realizing a couple of really important things.

  • I want to live to be 100 :)
  • I want to be healthy and strong so that I can dance at my 100th birthday party
  • I want to enjoy every moment I have on this earth, playing the game of being a human
  • I want to be a better example for my kids
  • I want to be a whole enlightened person, I want a completely holistic life.
  • I needed direction and support for this task

The beginning of May I took this commitment to a new level by I got myself a coach, yep a Raw Food Coach.    You can find out more about my coach at The Raw Food Path (http://rawfoodpath.com/).

I was feeling that I was ready to conquer this and I was going to be smart about it :)

During the month of May I set my goals, I set my intention, I create my vision of my life when I have achieved success in this area.  I found a role model, a 50 yr old lady who has graced the cover of Oxygen magazine and competes in Fitness contest, Tosca Reno.  So with my coach and my role model, I am armed to make great process.

During the Month of June, I challenged myself in several ways.  I set a goal for cycling.  I started with 125 kms for the month, when it seemed like I was going to easily make that I upped it to 150.  I ended the month with 175kms, a very successful month.

I also challenged my self to a 2 day fruit and veggie cleanse.  Just a simple gentle 2 days of only fresh fruits and veggies.  With the exception of a headache, which is normal, I was also able to successfully manage the weekend.

Several things I have already learned.

  • my weekly emails/calls with my coach keep my motivated.
  • monthly challenges keep me focused on making improvements.
  • each day I need to recommit to making this change.

I am definitely focused on a holistic lifestyle, I want to all changes I make to move my forward and keep me on the path to a new healthy lifestyle!
