December Mini-Challenge – A Triathlon

Great to see you again! Thanks for visiting!

I am quite excited about December!

During my month of extra reading and really getting clear about what my goals I was able to really put my motivation into high gear.

I joined do support groups – one focused on eating and weight lose and one focused on triathlons. :)

Yep you are right I have decided that I am going to train and participate in a Triathlon in 2010.  There are so many awesome things happening in 2010 and I think this will top it off perfectly.

This decision did change the focus of my weight lifting.  I needed to look at endurance training rather then weight lifting.  I am definitely still weight lifting, but there is less focus on how much I can lift and more focus on building muscles that can handle endurance activities.

Over the next few months I’ll post more on what training I am doing and other interesting articles on triathlons.  Even though I have been slowly getting into shape and I am not starting a ground zero, the added sports will make it very interesting.

  • Swimming:  welll I can keep myself from drowning :)   this will need LOTS of work, I need to start with learning technique and then lap, after lap, after lap.  This will start in the new year.
  • Biking: thank goodness I have been biking all summer… this will be my easiest sport.  I still need to increase my speed by 50% and my comfort level on the bike for longer periods of time.
  • Running: not quite starting from zero here either, I have been walking for over a year.  I found a great program that will take me from couch to 5km (in 30 minutes)  :)

December challenge is easy….

Training Plan

run for 10 minutes straight. ikes…. this is going to have me pushing myself for sure.  I am excited.

  • Bike 3X for 30 minutes
  • Walk/Run 3X for 30 minutes
  • Strength Training 3x for 30 minutes

Food Plan: eat clean all the time

Essence Plan:  10 minutes of  visualization each day.
